Copa America 2024 Kicks Off In Usa With Exciting Matches Ahead

The 2024 instalment of the Copa America gets underway in the USA overnight, with Argentina beginning their defence of the trophy against Canada in the opening match of Group A. Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso were both part of the Argentina squad that won the competition three years ago and they’re in the picture once again this time around as they initially look to navigate their way through a group that also includes Peru and Chile, with overall designs on retaining the famous silverware.

Another nation chasing glory is Uruguay, who include Rodrigo Bentancur in their squad – they’re in Group C along with hosts USA, Panama and Bolivia as they aim to win the trophy for the first time since 2011. As it stands, Argentina and Uruguay are the joint-record holders for the most Copa America tournament wins in history, with 15 each.
