WACO, Texas – Waco is preparing to host country music sensation Neal McCoy as the main performer for this year’s Central Texas Cattle Baron’s Ball, set to take place on Saturday night. The annual event supports the American Cancer Society and aims to gather funds for cancer research and patient care.

Neal McCoy, a prominent figure in country music, has released 34 singles to country radio throughout his career. He rose to prominence in 1993 with two consecutive number-one hits, “No Doubt About It” and “Wink,” from his platinum-certified album, “No Doubt About It.” As a native of Jacksonville, Texas, McCoy expressed his excitement about performing in Waco for a cause he believes in. “I’m reminding you to come see us this weekend on October 19th for the American Cancer Society, The Waco Cattle Baron’s Ball,” McCoy stated in an interview with KWTX. “Gonna get out there and hopefully some people want to pay and come see us and we’ll be able to raise a lot of money for the American Cancer Society.”

This marks the 32nd annual Cattle Baron’s Ball in Waco, and the event returns to its traditional outdoor setting at the MCC Highlander Ranch. Attendees can expect an evening filled with exquisite cuisine, beverages, dancing, and an auction featuring exclusive items, such as a signed George Strait hat and fishing trips in Costa Rica, along with unique experiences like being a weather kid for a day at KWTX.

Ashley Tucker, ACS Senior Development Manager, expressed optimism about the event’s success. “We are so excited to bring Central Texas together tomorrow night to fight this terrible disease together and bring hope to all those still fighting,” Tucker remarked. “This has been an incredible year of planning, and I can’t wait to see all the hard work pay off for the best party for a purpose of the year.”

The event’s significance is further highlighted by this year’s chairs, Mark and Robin Mitchell. Mark’s sister tragically passed away at the age of two due to Leukemia, and both of Robin’s parents were diagnosed with cancer. Robin herself was diagnosed with a common form of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and has been in remission for seven years.

The VIP event is slated to open its doors at 5 p.m., with the main event commencing at 6 p.m. Limited tickets are still available for purchase online.
