FRISCO, Texas — Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer announced Friday that linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and cornerback Shavon Revel will remain on snap counts for Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Both players are returning from knee surgeries earlier this year.

Overshown made his season debut on Monday against the Las Vegas Raiders, starting and logging 31 snaps. He was credited with a tackle for loss. Revel, who also made his NFL debut in that game, played 19 snaps off the bench, recording one tackle.

“They will be very similar to last week’s just because of the close proximity to this game and then turning around and playing against Kansas City,” Schottenheimer said. The Cowboys are preparing for a critical matchup where every player’s contribution will be essential.

While both players showed promise in their limited action, Schottenheimer emphasized the importance of not overextending them this week. “Those pitch counts are flexible, depending on the type of game and how it’s going,” he noted. The Cowboys’ injury report for Friday included only two players with an injury designation: defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (shoulder/neck) and tackle Hakeem Adeniji (illness), both listed as questionable.

Overshown expressed mixed feelings about his performance against the Raiders, feeling he had some rust to shake off but was pleased to be back on the field. “Me, myself, a little rust,” he said. “It felt good being out there. The film, I didn’t want to look at it. It’s just being antsy, ready to play football.”

The Cowboys’ upcoming game against the Eagles is crucial for their playoff hopes. Dallas will rely heavily on its defense to contain Philadelphia’s potent offense, which features stars like A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Both Overshown and Revel’s participation will be closely monitored as they continue to recover and integrate into the defense.
