Dallas Cowboys Football Trade Deadline News

Arlington, Texas — The Dallas Cowboys face a pivotal two days as they gear up for a Week 9 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football. Just 24 hours after the game, the NFL trade deadline will arrive, presenting the Cowboys an opportunity to reshape their season.

The Cowboys’ defense has struggled significantly this season, prompting discussions about possible trades to strengthen the unit. NFL insider Ian Rapoport stated that the Cowboys are actively seeking a pass rusher. Dallas has been linked to several high-profile players, including Miami Dolphins defensive stars Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb.

Phillips, a 26-year-old linebacker, has shown potential but has not played a full season since 2022, when he recorded 61 tackles and seven sacks. This season, he has tallied 21 total tackles and two sacks. The Cowboys could consider acquiring him for a fourth-round pick, a move that might provide high rewards with low risk.

Chubb, also battling injuries, registered 42.5 sacks throughout his career, with a noteworthy performance in 2022. However, he missed all of 2024 due to a torn ACL. Despite their injury records, both players are appealing for the Cowboys needing reinforcement.

Another target is Arden Key, a 27-year-old linebacker for the Tennessee Titans, who has compiled 176 tackles and 28 sacks over his career. Key, who began his career with the Raiders, could add valuable experience to the Cowboys’ pass rush.

Malcolm Koonce, a former third-round pick from the Las Vegas Raiders, is also on the radar. Although sidelined in 2024 due to injury, Koonce had an impressive 2023 season. With 11 sacks to his name, he is seen as a young talent with potential upside.

The NFL trade deadline is set for Tuesday, November 4, at 4:00 p.m. ET, and all eyes will be on the Cowboys as they decide how to potentially boost their defense for a playoff push.
