Cristiano Ronaldo Leads Al Nassr to Victory Over Al Ittihad
JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia — Cristiano Ronaldo helped propel Al Nassr to a 2-0 victory against Al Ittihad on Wednesday, keeping his team at the top of the Saudi Pro League.
Sadio Mané scored the opening goal in the ninth minute, setting the tone for Al Nassr’s strong performance. Ronaldo extended the lead with a header in the 35th minute, marking his 946th career goal.
Despite Al Ittihad’s efforts to respond, including a missed chance by Karim Benzema late in the match, they failed to find the back of the net. Al Ittihad struggled to generate significant threats throughout the game.
Al Nassr displayed solid defensive tactics as they maintained control after their two goals, even as Al Ittihad dominated possession at times.
Ronaldo exited the match in the second half to a round of applause from the opposing fans at King Abdullah Sports City. His stellar performance helped secure Al Nassr’s spot at the top of the league with 12 points, three ahead of Al Ittihad.
Next, Al Nassr will face Al-Zawraa Sport Club in the AFC Cup, presenting another opportunity for Ronaldo to further his impressive goal tally.
