Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones and Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento have been added to the senior England squad for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures. This announcement marks a significant opportunity for both players to prove their potential on an international stage.

Jones, who has previously been part of the England Under-21 team that clinched the 2023 European Under-21 Championship, received his first call-up to the senior team in May as part of Gareth Southgate‘s provisional 33-man squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers. However, he did not make it into the final selection. This new inclusion provides him a chance to debut under the guidance of interim manager Lee Carsley. Jones will join his Liverpool teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was named in the initial 25-man squad.

On the other hand, Tino Livramento, who currently plays for Newcastle, was part of the senior squad last month for games against the Republic of Ireland and Finland but did not play. The call-up comes amid preparations for matches against Greece and Finland, scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium on Thursday, October 10, and in Helsinki on Sunday, October 13, respectively.

Amid these squad updates, Captain Harry Kane trained separately from the rest of the squad at St George’s Park on Wednesday. Reports suggest he is expected to be fit for the matches. Meanwhile, Manchester City‘s Jack Grealish missed training as a precaution due to a minor knock.
