Micah Parsons Injury Dallas Cowboys

In East Rutherford, New Jersey, during a critical defensive stand by the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night, a concerning incident occurred. Linebacker Micah Parsons, a pivotal figure in the Cowboys’ defense, suffered an injury that left both fans and team officials worried. The mishap took place during a third-down play with less than four minutes remaining in the game against the New York Giants.

Parsons was seen clutching his left ankle after an encounter with Giants center John Michael Schmitz, which resulted in him being blocked into right guard Greg Van Roten, who was falling at the time. The collision left Parsons on the ground in apparent pain, prompting the Dallas training staff to intervene. He was aided off the field, struggling to apply weight to his injured leg, and later taken to the locker room on a cart with his left shoe removed.

Following the game, Parsons confirmed that he had sustained an ankle injury. “X-rays were negative,” Parsons mentioned, indicating that no fractures were immediately detected. However, he is scheduled to undergo an MRI in Dallas on Friday for a more detailed assessment. The Cowboys are preparing to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5, scheduled for “Sunday Night Football.”

During the game, Parsons recorded two tackles, including one for a loss, before his injury forced him off the field. Earlier in the match, he had also temporarily exited the game due to a neck injury sustained after a significant hit from a teammate. Despite these setbacks, Parsons, a two-time All-Pro, entered the game with six quarterback hits and one sack over the season’s first three games.

The game against the Giants proved to be challenging for the Cowboys, who faced multiple injuries. Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence suffered a foot injury, and cornerback Trevon Diggs temporarily left the field. Despite these challenges, the Cowboys’ defense held the Giants to only 26 rushing yards on 24 attempts, showcasing a commendable defensive effort.
