In a thrilling encounter of the IPL 2024, Delhi Capitals faced Rajasthan Royals at the iconic Arun Jaitley Stadium. The clash saw Delhi setting a competitive target of 222 runs for Rajasthan to chase.

After their innings, Delhi Capitals managed to score a remarkable 221 runs in 20 overs, losing eight wickets. The batters, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abhishek Porwal, played crucial knocks of 50 and 65 runs respectively. Notable contributions also came from Shreyas Iyer with 15 runs, while Gulbadin Naib made 19 runs in his first IPL match.

On the bowling front, Rashid Dar Salam took three wickets, with Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma, and Yuzvendra Chahal securing one wicket each.

In response, Rajasthan Royals began their chase with a quick blow as Akshar Patel dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal and trapped him out, early in the innings. At the end of the first over, Rajasthan stood at 7 runs for the loss of one wicket.

Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler built a strong partnership, but Buttler’s wicket fell to Akshar Patel after a brisk innings of 19 runs off 17 balls. Samson, along with Ryan Parag, is now at the crease.
