Denver Nuggets Tie Franchise Record, Extend Winning Streak to Seven Games
MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota — The Denver Nuggets are celebrating after clinching their seventh consecutive victory, defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 120-105 on Nov. 16, 2025. With this win, the Nuggets tied their best 12-game start in franchise history at 10-2.
The team’s performance is a marked improvement from last season when they were overworked during the playoffs. In the decisive Game 7 of the Western Conference finals against the Timberwolves, the Nuggets struggled, leading to a coaching shake-up that saw Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth parted ways.
This time around, head coach David Adelman and his new executive team are implementing deeper roster strategies, aiming to keep key players fresher for the postseason. “Just to help our main people not get run into the ground,” Adelman said.
Even with injuries sidelining starters Christian Braun and Cam Johnson, the Nuggets succeeded against Minnesota. Standouts include Tim Hardaway Jr., who scored 23 points and made five three-pointers, and Peyton Watson, who held Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards to just 12 points.
Adelman’s rotation proved effective, featuring nine players averaging double-digit minutes. Nikola Jokić is leading the NBA in rebounds and assists, maintaining a triple-double average while managing his playing time effectively.
Watson, reflecting on the team’s depth, noted, “I think us being deeper and able to rely on other guys is really going to help with our longevity this season.” This teamwork paid off as the Nuggets outscored the Timberwolves 36-26 in the fourth quarter.
The Timberwolves are seeking improvements after their four-game winning streak came to an end. Coach Chris Finch is urging his bench to add energy. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are embracing their depth and are poised for the season ahead.
