Derrick Henry Reaches Career Milestones with NFL Record
Derrick Henry, a prominent figure in the NFL, continues to demonstrate his prowess as one of the league’s top running backs, achieving significant career milestones this past Sunday. The game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals saw Henry become the 27th player in NFL history to score 100 career touchdowns, marking a ‘Milestone Day’ for the player affectionately known as ‘King Henry.’
On Sunday, during the first quarter of the game at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio, Henry achieved his 100th NFL career touchdown. The touchdown, which originated from a third-and-goal situation, afforded the Ravens an early 7-0 lead over the Bengals. Henry, who stands at 6-foot-2, is in his inaugural season with the Ravens, following his offseason move from the Tennessee Titans after eight successful years there.
Henry’s natural ability to score dates back to his collegiate days at the University of Alabama. During his three seasons in Tuscaloosa, he scored an impressive 45 touchdowns and accumulated 3,591 rushing yards. Notably, Henry is among the four Alabama players who have been awarded the Heisman Trophy, an accolade he received for the 2014-2015 season after rushing for 2,219 yards.
In addition to his touchdown achievement, Henry reached another career milestone on Sunday. In the second quarter, with a five-yard carry, he exceeded 10,000 career rushing yards. This accomplishment ranks him as the 31st running back in NFL history to reach this milestone, making him the first to do so since Marshawn Lynch in 2017.
