Dodgers Reds Wild Card Series 2025

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Los Angeles Dodgers will host the Cincinnati Reds in Game 1 of the National League Wild Card Series tonight at Dodger Stadium. The game is scheduled to start at 9:08 p.m. ET, and coverage will be provided by ESPN.

This series marks the Reds’ first playoff appearance since 2013, although they did participate in the expanded postseason in 2020. Cincinnati clinched its spot on the final day of the regular season, reflecting a dramatic turnaround for the team.

The Reds face an uphill battle against the Dodgers, especially since they had a tough season against them, going 1-5 in the regular season and being outscored by 15 runs overall. Cincinnati’s last postseason victory came in 1995.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers, winners of the National League West, will enjoy home-field advantage. Despite battling numerous injuries throughout the regular season, they enter the playoffs with several of their top starters healthy, including their ace rotation. However, notable absences include catcher Will Smith, sidelined since early September due to a hairline fracture in his hand.

Tonight’s matchup will feature Cincinnati’s Hunter Greene taking the mound against the Dodgers’ yet-to-be-named starter. The winner of this series will advance to the Divisional Round, where they will face the winner of the other Wild Card Series.

Fans are excited for the matchup which promises to deliver thrilling playoff baseball action as the stakes rise in October.
