Dwayne Johnson Reveals He Had to ‘Pull Strings’ to Secure Taylor Swift Tickets
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared a unique challenge he faced in his illustrious career: securing tickets to Taylor Swift‘s highly sought-after Eras Tour. Despite his status as a WWE champion and Hollywood superstar, Johnson had to “pull strings” for the first time in his three decades of fame to get the tickets.
Johnson explained that a good friend had reached out to him for help in obtaining tickets to one of Swift’s shows. He admitted that he is not comfortable asking for favors but made an exception in this case. “I’m never good at asking for that kind of stuff. I’m good at giving it. Hate asking for stuff. I don’t do it,” Johnson said. However, he made a call, and “Taylor made it happen.”
The difficulty in securing Eras Tour tickets is not unique to Johnson. Many fans, including other celebrities like Oscar-winner Steven Soderbergh, have expressed their frustration in trying to get tickets. Soderbergh mentioned in July that he would attend a show if he could only score some tickets, saying, “I can’t get in. But I watched the film.”
Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, which kicked off in March 2023, has been a monumental success, spanning five continents and 149 total shows. The tour is set to conclude on December 8 in Vancouver and is expected to be the highest-grossing concert tour of all time, with estimated earnings of nearly $2 billion. Swift has also announced plans to release The Official Eras Tour Book, featuring over 500 images from the tour.
