PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Landon Dickerson, the Philadelphia Eagles‘ noted left guard and three-time Pro Bowl selection, revealed on Thursday that he will likely undergo surgery this offseason to address a left knee injury.
The injury, which Dickerson did not specify, occurred during the Eagles’ NFC Championship Game victory over the Washington Commanders on January 26. Despite the injury, the 26-year-old played a key role in the Eagles’ 40-22 win against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, held in New Orleans on February 11.
“I played through it during the playoffs, but now it’s time to take care of it,” Dickerson said in a press conference. “The team has been great, and I’m focused on recovery so I can come back strong next season.”
Dickerson, who was drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft from Alabama, made an immediate impact, starting 13 of 14 regular-season games in his rookie year. To date, he has made 62 starts in 63 regular-season appearances and has participated in all nine playoff games during his career.
His consistent performance has earned him Pro Bowl selections for three consecutive seasons, further solidifying his status as a cornerstone of the Eagles’ offensive line.
“Landon is a crucial part of our offensive line, and we support him fully as he navigates this process,” said Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. “His ability to play through pain speaks volumes about his character and dedication to the team.”
As the Eagles prepare for the upcoming offseason, Dickerson’s surgery and recovery will be closely monitored, with hopes of a full return in time for the next season.
