NEW YORK, NY — Eddie Brock and his symbiotic partner, Venom, return in an action-packed adventure in the third installment of the franchise, “Venom: The Last Dance.” This film, directed by Kelly Marcel, hits streaming services on February 25, 2025, and promises to deliver a thrilling conclusion to the characters’ saga.

Eddie Brock, played by Tom Hardy, finds himself on the run after being accused of murdering Detective Mulligan. The duo is hiding out in Mexico when they decide it’s time to travel to New York to clear their names. However, they soon find themselves being hunted by a dangerous alien creature known as a Xenophage, sent by the villain Knull, portrayed by Andy Serkis.

Knull, a supervillain deity and the creator of the symbiotes, is on a mission to capture Eddie and Venom’s Codex—a mysterious life force connected to their bond. The Lab at Imperium, a secret government agency, is also in pursuit of Venom for research purposes, adding another layer of danger as Eddie and Venom navigate through their adversities.

“This marks the culmination of Eddie and Venom’s journey,” Marcel said. “We wanted to explore the depth of their relationship while throwing formidable challenges their way.”

The film expands on the Venom character’s complex universe while introducing new characters who play significant roles in the Marvel Comics lore. Notably, Juno Temple stars as Dr. Teddy Payne, a scientist sympathetic toward the symbiotes, while Chiwetel Ejiofor takes on the role of Rex Strickland, a military figure antagonistic toward Eddie and Venom.

Stephen Graham reprises his role as Detective Mulligan, and his character evolves in the film, hinting at his transformation into Toxin, another symbiote from the comics. “I’m excited for audiences to see Mulligan’s development,” Graham said during a recent interview.

Fans of the franchise will also be pleased to see the return of fan-favorite Mrs. Chen, played by Peggy Lu. Chen’s role is small but pivotal as she continues to support Eddie Brock’s endeavors. “She represents a connection to Eddie’s past,” Lu noted.

As the story unfolds, Eddie and Venom confront both Knull and the Xenophage threat, leading to a climactic showdown that will test their bond like never before. “It’s a journey of self-discovery and sacrifice,” Hardy explained. “Eddie has to really figure out what he’s willing to do to protect Venom and those he cares about.”

The stakes are high as Eddie and Venom face enemies from both the extraterrestrial and human realms in what could be their most dangerous adventure yet. With a runtime of 110 minutes, the audience can expect a thrilling ride filled with action, emotional depth, and the quintessential blend of chaos and humor that has defined the series.

As the franchise draws to a close, Marcel expressed hope that the groundwork laid in this film paves the way for future stories within the Sony Spider-Man Universe. “We’ve introduced significant elements that could potentially extend the Venom story, but for now, this is Eddie and Venom’s final chapter.”

Fans can anticipate streaming “Venom: The Last Dance” on Netflix starting February 25, 2025, including a post-credits scene that hints at future possibilities within the universe.
