7-Eleven Celebrates 60th Anniversary of Fresh-Brewed Coffee with Special Offers for Long Island Baristas
IRVING, Texas — 7-Eleven is set to mark a significant milestone as it celebrates the 60th anniversary of its popular fresh-brewed, to-go coffee. To commence the festivities, the convenience store giant will be introducing special offers in Long Island, New York, where the brand has a notable coffee following.
During April 7-11, 7-Eleven will be running a promotional event at its Long Island locations. Between the hours of 4 a.m. and 7:11 a.m. local time, baristas working at competing chains on the island will have the opportunity to stop by any participating 7-Eleven store for a complimentary large coffee before starting their shifts.
7-Eleven will extend the anniversary celebrations to its customers throughout the year with various initiatives. This includes a fresh and innovative promotional campaign, the introduction of a new cup design commemorating the coffee program’s 60th anniversary, and the release of exclusive coffee blends designed to evoke a sense of nostalgia with flavors reminiscent of the past.
Dennis Phelps, the Senior Vice President of Merchandising at 7-Eleven, expressed excitement about reaching this significant milestone. He acknowledged the loyalty of customers who have made 7-Eleven a part of their daily routine through the years, as well as the role of baristas in keeping the coffee flowing. Phelps emphasized the brand’s commitment to serving customers and communities for many more years to come.
In 1964, 7-Eleven revolutionized the coffee industry by introducing coffee-to-go cups for sale by the cup to customers nationwide. Over time, the brand has adapted its coffee offerings to meet changing consumer preferences, incorporating trends like specialty coffee selections. More recently, 7-Eleven launched their mobile checkout app for coffee purchases and introduced self-service coffee stations to enhance the customer experience.
Headquartered in Irving, Texas, 7-Eleven operates over 13,000 stores across the United States and Canada. Aside from its flagship stores, the company also manages franchises like Speedway, Stripes, Laredo Taco Co., and Raise the Roost Chicken and Biscuits locations, providing diverse food and beverage options to its customers.
