Fain on Teamsters President’s GOP Speech

In a recent interview, United Auto Workers (UAW) President Shawn Fain shared his thoughts on Teamsters President Sean O’Brien speaking at the Republican National Convention last month.

Fain expressed that while he respects O’Brien for addressing working-class issues in such a setting, he personally wouldn’t have taken that stage. He stated, “I give him credit for going into the belly of the beast and actually speaking about working class issues, but I don’t really think it swayed anybody.”

This comment comes at a time when political divides are especially stark, making O’Brien’s choice to speak at a Republican event particularly interesting.
