Fall River Snowy Street Parking Ban

FALL RIVER, Mass. — With several inches of snow forecasted, the City of Fall River implemented a parking ban over the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, Fall River and nearby areas received between 4 to 5 inches of snow from Saturday evening into Sunday afternoon.

The parking ban was effective from Saturday at 5:00 p.m. to Sunday at 12:00 p.m. During this time, the Traffic Department reported a total of 1,020 parking violations, leading to 12 vehicles being towed. “We urge all residents to comply with the parking ban to allow for safe and efficient snow removal,” a city spokesperson stated.

The city emphasized the consequences of violating the parking ban, noting that fines for non-compliance can cost violators $65.00. Residents are reminded to stay informed about future weather forecasts and any imposed parking restrictions to avoid tickets and towing.

Fall River officials have advised residents to actively monitor city alerts for future snow emergencies. The proactive measures aim to ensure safety and accessibility on the city’s streets during winter weather conditions.
