Fantasy Series ‘The Magicians’ Moves to Tubi After Netflix Exit

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The critically acclaimed fantasy series *The Magicians* is leaving Netflix and will soon be available to stream for free on Tubi. The show, which boasts a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, will depart Netflix on January 14, with all five seasons arriving on Tubi the following day.

Created by John McNamara and Sera Gamble, *The Magicians* is based on Lev Grossman’s novel series of the same name. The series follows Quentin Coldwater (Jason Ralph) and his friends as they navigate Brakebills University for Magical Pedagogy, uncovering magical secrets and battling threats to their world. The ensemble cast includes Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Hale Appleman, and Summer Bishil.

Despite its strong critical reception, *The Magicians* faced challenges during its run, including declining ratings and rising production costs. The series concluded in 2019 after five seasons, leaving fans with a sense of closure for its characters. Gamble, known for her work on *Supernatural*, and McNamara, who co-created the series, brought a unique blend of dark humor and fantasy to the adaptation.

Tubi, a free ad-supported streaming service, will now host the complete series.
