Felix Auger Aliassime Tennis Match

Shanghai, China — Felix Auger-Aliassime celebrated two milestones on Saturday by winning his opening match at the Rolex Shanghai Masters. The 25-year-old Canadian defeated Alejandro Tabilo of Chile in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, marking his 250th career victory and his first win as a married man.

Auger-Aliassime is only the third player born in the 2000s to achieve this milestone, joining Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. In the match, the score was close early in both sets before Auger-Aliassime surged ahead, winning four games in a row to secure the first set and three consecutive games for the second set.

Stats showed Auger-Aliassime was dominant with 29 winners compared to 26 unforced errors. Tabilo finished with 11 winners and 18 unforced errors. Breaking points were also crucial, with Auger-Aliassime converting three of his five chances, while Tabilo was unable to convert any from his seven opportunities.

With this victory, Auger-Aliassime stands at 9-2 in his last three events and looks strong heading into the tournament. He will face Jesper de Jong, who advanced after defeating Jakub Mensik, in the third round.
