Kyle Singler Nba Arrest News

WHITEFIELD, Oklahoma — Kyle Singler, a former Duke University basketball standout and NBA player, was arrested on Thursday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. The incident occurred at an Airbnb where they were staying with their young child.

According to authorities, deputies responded to a call from a woman claiming that Singler, 37, was chasing her. She reported that during their altercation, he threatened to rape her and physically pushed her to the ground. The victim had visible injuries, including finger-shaped marks on her face and bruising on her arms, consistent with an assault.

Mitch Dobbs of the Haskell County Sheriff’s Office stated, “It looked like he palmed her face like he would a basketball and pushed her down, is what she had said.” Authorities noted that Singler appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and was uncooperative during their questioning.

The toddler at the location was unharmed. Singler was taken into custody and later released on bond.

This incident continues a troubling pattern for Singler, who has faced significant personal challenges since retiring from professional basketball in 2019. Last November, he posted distressing videos on social media, claiming he had been mistreated and expressing concerns for his safety. These posts garnered support from former teammates, including NBA stars such as Kevin Love and Andre Drummond, who expressed their concern and offered assistance.

Singler achieved recognition at Duke University, helping lead the Blue Devils to the 2010 NCAA Championship and earning the title of Most Outstanding Player in the Final Four. He was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 2011 and later played for the Oklahoma City Thunder before concluding his NBA career.

As he faces these serious allegations, the basketball community continues to watch and hope for his recovery and well-being.
