Former President Goodluck Jonathan Mourns The Loss Of Elder Sister

Former President Goodluck Jonathan is mourning the loss of his elder sister, Madam Obebhatein Jonathan, who passed away on Thursday, January 11. She was 70 years old.

Obebhatein, affectionately known as Amissi, succumbed to a brief illness at the Federal Medical Centre in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

A retired teacher and businesswoman, Amissi devoted her life to serving God and humanity. She was described as a devout Christian, a virtuous woman, and a role model within and outside her community.

The burial of Obebhatein Jonathan has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 16, 2024. The family will announce the details of the funeral rites.

Obebhatein is survived by three children, her siblings including former President Goodluck Jonathan, and her mother, Mama Eunice Afeni-Jonathan.
