Michael Carter Williams Espn Analyst College Basketball

Syracuse, N.Y. — Former Syracuse University basketball star Michael Carter-Williams has joined ESPN as a men’s college basketball studio and game analyst, the network announced. Carter-Williams, who led the Orange to the 2013 Final Four, will appear on ACC Network’s signature basketball show, Nothing But Net, and provide analysis for games across ESPN platforms.

Carter-Williams will make his debut as a game analyst on Saturday, Jan. 25, when Virginia Tech hosts Clemson on the ACC Network. He will work alongside play-by-play commentator and fellow Syracuse alumnus Anish Shroff. Additionally, he will offer pregame and halftime analysis during Tuesday’s ACC Network doubleheader, featuring SMU at North Carolina.

“My time playing at Syracuse are a few of the best years of my life, and I’m thrilled to return to college ball in this capacity,” Carter-Williams said. “The ACC is synonymous with basketball greatness, and I’m excited to dive right in with my new teammates at ESPN and ACC Network.”

Carter-Williams, who was selected 11th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2013 NBA Draft, won the NBA Rookie of the Year award after averaging 16.7 points, 6.3 assists, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game. He spent nine seasons in the NBA, playing for the Sixers, Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, Charlotte Hornets, Houston Rockets, and Orlando Magic.

He made his debut as a studio analyst on Dec. 22 during ESPN’s coverage of Le Moyne vs. Notre Dame. Carter-Williams is the latest Syracuse basketball figure to transition to the media world, joining Hall of Fame coach Jim Boeheim, who is currently an ACC Network analyst.
