STADE ROLAND GARROS, PARIS, France — The fourth round of the 2025 French Open is officially underway, with two American tennis stars reaching the quarterfinals. Frances Tiafoe, seeded 15th, has joined fellow American Tommy Paul, seeded 12th, after a thrilling day of matches at Roland Garros.

On June 3, Frances Tiafoe won convincingly against Daniel Altmaier of Germany, further solidifying his place in the tournament. Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz, the No. 2 seed, triumphed over Ben Shelton in four sets, bringing another American’s hopes to a close.

Lorenzo Musetti, seeded 8th, secured the last quarterfinal spot after defeating Holger Rune, the 10th seed, in the night session on Court Philippe-Chatrier. The match concluded with Musetti winning in four sets, showcasing a variety of techniques and powerful shots.

Aryna Sabalenka (1) will face Zheng Qinwen (8), while Iga Świątek (5) takes on Elina Svitolina (13) in the women’s singles quarterfinals following their victories earlier in the day.

As the tournament progresses, four additional quarterfinal matches will take place. Notable matches scheduled for tomorrow include Alexei Popyrin against Tommy Paul and a highly anticipated match between Jannik Sinner (1) and Andrey Rublev (17).

Musetti reflected on his performance, stating, “I started when I was four. I’m really happy to be keeping the one-hander.” His upcoming match against Tiafoe promises to be competitive, with both players keen to make their mark in one of tennis’s premier events.
