Friends of Reeva Steenkamp are expressing anger and sorrow after photos emerged of Oscar Pistorius smiling in public following his prison release.

The former Paralympian, Oscar Pistorius, was captured on camera at the parole office in Pretoria, looking content as he reported for his parole obligations.

Reeva’s friends, Tania Koen among them, voiced their despair for Reeva’s mother June and her late husband Barry, who passed away recently.

Photographer Deaan Vivier captured the exclusive images of Pistorius stepping out post his parole, revealing a somewhat changed physical appearance and demeanor.

Oscar Pistorius, who shot Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day 2013, has been under strict conditions since his release, including anger management therapy and restrictions on alcohol and weapons.

His current residence at Arnold‘s house in Johannesburg after his prison term has kept him low-profile, adhering to the parole guidelines amidst fears of backlash from the public and underworld figures.

The weight of the years in prison and the emotional turmoil has visibly affected Pistorius as depicted in the recent pictures, portraying him in a seemingly relaxed state but with overarching controversy surrounding his freedom.
