Game Time Changed Due to Severe Weather Concerns
MURRAY, Ky. — The start time for Saturday’s football game between South Dakota State and Murray State has been moved up due to severe weather warnings. The game will now kick off at 1 p.m. Central Time at Roy Stewart Stadium.
The National Weather Service has predicted severe weather across the area, prompting the time change. Gates at the stadium will open at 11:30 a.m., and radio coverage will begin at 11 a.m., while video coverage will air on ESPN+ starting at kickoff.
South Dakota State enters the game as the second-ranked team, boasting a perfect record of 6-0, with a 2-0 standing in the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The Jackrabbits are coming off a convincing 31-3 victory over Northern Iowa.
Murray State, looking for its first win this season, holds a record of 0-6 overall and 0-2 in the conference. The Racers faced a tough challenge last week against Illinois State, which ranked ninth in the nation, and lost 46-32 at home.
This matchup marks the second time these two programs have met on the field. Their first encounter was on November 2, 2024, when South Dakota State triumphed 52-7 at home. The Jackrabbits have not played in Kentucky since 1978.
Fans can expect an exciting clash as SDSU continues its bid for a perfect season, while Murray State seeks to break its losing streak.
