George Springer Faces Busy Schedule with World Series and Sister’s Wedding
TORONTO, Canada – Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer is gearing up for a hectic month. The All-Star slugger is preparing to take the field against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2025 World Series while also set to attend his sister Lena’s wedding.
Lena Springer, head softball coach at Trinity College, announced her upcoming wedding on social media following the Blue Jays’ victory over the Seattle Mariners in Game 7 of the American League Championship Series. “A World Series a week before my wedding wasn’t originally on the bingo card for 2025, but boy am I glad it is now!!! Let’s Goooooooooo!!!!” she tweeted on Monday.
The 2025 World Series begins Friday in Toronto and could last until Nov. 1, depending on the number of games played. Although the exact date and location of Lena’s wedding remain unclear, she expressed excitement as her brother shines on baseball’s biggest stage.
“Lots of amazing things happening!! LETS GO JAYS!!” Lena tweeted, while adding that she is finalizing wedding details amidst her brother’s career highlight. She reminisced on the thrill of watching him play in the World Series for the third time, posting a family photo celebrating the Blue Jays’ ALCS win.
The 36-year-old Springer previously won the World Series with the Houston Astros in 2017, earning the World Series MVP title. After spending seven seasons with the Astros, he signed a six-year, $150 million contract with the Blue Jays in 2021.
In August, the Blue Jays faced the Dodgers in a brief series where Los Angeles won two out of three games. The Dodgers are coming off a sweep against the Brewers in the National League Championship Series and hope to defend their title after winning against the Yankees last year.
