Giants Secure Victor Dimukeje as Defensive Depth with Pending Physical

East Rutherford, N.J. — The New York Giants have agreed to terms with linebacker Victor Dimukeje, pending a physical examination. The 25-year-old outside linebacker, previously with the Arizona Cardinals, will bring experience and depth to the Giants’ defense.
Dimukeje, standing 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 262 pounds, was drafted by the Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Over his four seasons in Arizona, he participated in 55 games and started in eight of them, accumulating a total of 67 tackles, four sacks, and numerous additional defensive statistics.
His breakout season came in 2023 when he played all 16 games, recording all four of his career sacks alongside eight quarterback hits and five tackles for loss. A notable performance of his was against the Giants in Week 2, where he notched one of his sacks.
Additionally, Dimukeje proved to be a reliable asset on special teams, participating in at least 65 percent of the snaps during the past three seasons, which showcases his versatility. “Victor has shown great potential and consistent effort in his time in the league,” said Giants General Manager Joe Schoen. “We believe he can make an immediate impact on both defense and special teams.”
Prior to entering the NFL, Dimukeje had a productive college career at Duke University, where he tallied 21.5 sacks and 39 tackles for loss. His standout junior year earned him a second-team All-ACC selection in 2019.
Dimukeje’s signing is part of an ongoing effort by the Giants to strengthen their defense amid recent departures, including linebacker Patrick Johnson, who has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. The team has also added several other players in free agency, including linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, enhancing their depth as they approach the upcoming season.
As the Giants continue to build their roster, Dimukeje’s experience and skill set may provide much-needed strength and stability to the linebacker position. Fans will be eager to see how he integrates into the Giants’ system and contributes to their defensive strategies in the 2025 season.
