Gilberto Mora Attracts Attention from Major Clubs at U-20 World Cup
Mexico City, Mexico – Gilberto Mora has emerged as a standout player in the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup, drawing interest from prestigious clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid. The 16-year-old midfielder scored three goals and provided one assist in the group stage, helping Mexico advance from a challenging pool.
Barcelona previously invited Mora to train at their La Masia academy last year, underscoring their interest. His impressive performances have caught the attention of several top clubs, who are monitoring his situation closely. Mora admitted that he is aware of the interest from major teams in the sport.
In addition to Barcelona, clubs such as Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and others have reportedly set their sights on the talented Mexican player. Any potential transfer, however, would have to wait until he turns 18.
His agent, Rafaela Pimenta, confirmed that clubs have made approaches regarding Mora’s future. “Gilberto Mora is a player that can play anywhere. He’s ready for the next step,” Pimenta said. She emphasized the need to protect Mora amidst the growing hype surrounding him, recognizing his potential as a generational talent for Mexican soccer.
“He has natural talent, works hard, and feels passion for soccer,” Pimenta added. Mora and the Mexican team will face Chile in the knockout round on Tuesday afternoon, continuing their pursuit of glory in the tournament.
