Brett Howden Injury News Nhl

Las Vegas, Nevada – The Vegas Golden Knights will be missing two key players for their home game against the Boston Bruins on Thursday night. Head coach Bruce Cassidy announced that forward Brett Howden and defenseman Noah Hanifin will not play due to injuries.

Howden, who has a goal in three games this season, is dealing with a lower-body injury and will miss his second consecutive game. Meanwhile, Hanifin has been sidelined for four games with an undisclosed injury.

Goaltender Adin Hill, who left a previous game due to a lower-body injury, is set to dress and serve as backup for Akira Schmid. Schmid performed well in Hill’s absence, stopping 19 shots against the Calgary Flames.

The Golden Knights aim to build on their early-season successes despite these injuries. Last year, they made the playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons and won the Stanley Cup in 2023. This season, they are currently 2-0-2, with six points in their first four games.

Without Hanifin, defenseman Ben Hutton will team up with Zach Whitecloud. Cole Reinhardt will stay in the lineup, taking Howden’s position on the fourth line. The Golden Knights are preparing for a three-game homestand, with games against the Flames and the next Monday.

The matchup against the Bruins kicks off at 10 p.m. ET at T-Mobile Arena. The Bruins, sitting at 3-1, have had a solid start to their season with ten different players contributing to their scoring.
