Heat Advisory Issued for Southeastern Michigan Amid Potential Storms

DETROIT, Michigan — A 4Warn Weather Alert has been issued for Southeastern Michigan due to another wave of extreme heat and humidity. The heat advisory will be active today from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with temperatures expected to reach the low 90s and heat indices near 100 degrees.
The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, but with the oppressive heat, isolated pop-up storms are possible. Meteorologists warn of thunderstorms likely to occur on Tuesday. Highs tomorrow will also hit the low 90s, though the heat advisory has not extended into Tuesday because thunderstorms may impact temperature readings.
On Wednesday, the region will experience a shift as a cold front moves through. This will bring wet weather and a significant cooldown, with temperatures dropping to the 70s by Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows are expected to dip into the 50s. Meteorologists anticipate a return to seasonal and sunny weather by the weekend.
Ashlee Baracy, an Emmy-award-winning meteorologist, advises residents to stay informed and cautious as these weather conditions develop. Her forecasts can be seen on Local 4 News during weekday mornings, at noon, and through streaming on Local4+.
