Hollywood Takes Over Vilanova i la Geltrú for ‘Day Drinker’ Shoot

Vilanova i la Geltrú, Spain — Hollywood stars Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz are in the seaside town of Vilanova i la Geltrú this week to film their upcoming thriller, “Day Drinker.” Directed by Marc Webb, the film has drawn significant attention as it sets up on a yacht at the Pendennis facilities in Vilanova Grand Marina.
The production dominates a large stretch of the town’s seafront near the port, with trucks, trailers, and crew filling the area. This scenic location will serve as a backdrop for scenes mostly set inside a cruise ship’s bar. The details of the shoot were first reported by Canal Blau and confirmed by the Catalan News Agency (ACN).
Alongside Depp and Cruz, the film features younger talent, including Madelyn Cline from “Outer Banks” and Spanish actor Manu Ríos, known for his role in “Élite.” The film is currently set for release in 2026, generating excitement among fans.
Filming in Vilanova i la Geltrú is being coordinated with the assistance of Node Film Clúster, a regional agency dedicated to supporting audiovisual projects in the area.
