Carolina Hurricanes Vs Tampa Bay Lightning 2025

TAMPA, Fla. – The Carolina Hurricanes will be without forward William Carrier for a second consecutive game as they face the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. Carrier, 30, was sidelined due to a lower-body injury during Sunday’s win over Pittsburgh. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour expressed hope that the injury isn’t serious, but no further updates were provided as of Monday morning.

Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis, who each recorded three points in their last game, will aim to maintain their momentum. Goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov, who posted a 22-save shutout in his last appearance at Amalie Arena on Nov. 11, 2023, will start in net for the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes enter the game with a 24-14-2 record, while the Lightning are 20-15-2. Tampa Bay has struggled recently, losing four straight games and being outscored 13-5 during that stretch. Carolina, on the other hand, has been consistent, going 4-1-1 in their last six games.

Carolina’s lineup adjustments include forward Jaaska stepping in for Carrier, joining Drury and Blake on the fourth line. The Hurricanes’ power play units remain strong, with Aho, Jarvis, Necas, and Svechnikov leading the first unit.

Injury updates for the Hurricanes include Tyson Jost (lower-body injury, out long-term), Shayne Gostisbehere (upper-body injury, out for a couple of weeks), Frederik Andersen (knee, out 8-12 weeks), and Jesper Fast (neck, out for the season).

Oddsmakers favor the Hurricanes slightly, with a money line of -120. The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
