India Dominates Afghanistan In T20 World Cup Super 8 Match

India continued its winning streak in the T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating Afghanistan by 47 runs in the Super 8 match. Setting a target of 182 runs at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, India displayed a strong performance.

Afghanistan, in response, crumbled at 134 runs in 20 overs. Ajmatullah Omarzai top-scored with 26 runs, while other Afghan batsmen could not build substantial partnerships.

For India, Surkumar Yadav played a blazing innings, scoring the highest runs. With a quickfire half-century comprising of five fours and three sixes, Surkumar set the tone for India’s innings.

The start for India wasn’t ideal, with captain Rohit Sharma getting out cheaply for 8 runs. However, Virat Kohli‘s 24 and Rishabh Pant’s 20 provided stability before Surkumar and Hardik Pandya‘s explosive partnership guided India to a competitive total.

India’s bowlers, led by Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh, showcased a brilliant display. Bumrah’s lethal bowling in four overs yielded three crucial wickets, while Arshdeep Singh also contributed with three dismissals.

With this victory, India further strengthens its position in the tournament and looks forward to the upcoming matches with confidence.
