India Tops T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 Group, Match Against Canada Cancelled

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 faced a setback on Saturday, 15th June, as the anticipated match between India and Canada (IND vs CAN) had to be called off due to a soggy outfield at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Florida.

With the toss remaining uncalled and the match deemed unplayable due to the weather conditions, umpires decided to abandon the fixture. The cancellation awarded both India and Canada 1-1 points. India now holds the lead in Group E standings with 7 points, having defeated Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA in previous matches.

The current Super 8 qualified teams include India, USA, Australia, Afghanistan, and the West Indies from earlier performances.

India’s upcoming Super 8 matches will be against Afghanistan on June 20th at Barbados, followed by a face-off with the Netherlands/Bangladesh in Antigua on June 22nd, and a crucial match against Australia on June 24th in St. Lucia. All of India’s Super 8 matches are scheduled at 8 PM IST.
