The India women’s cricket team faced off against South Africa in the first ODI match of the series in Bengaluru. After winning the toss, India decided to bat first.
India had a rocky start, losing five wickets for just 99 runs. However, Smriti Mandhana played a crucial role in stabilizing the innings with a well-crafted half-century.
Mandhana then went on to score a century off 116 balls, providing vital support to the team. Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar also contributed, helping India reach a total of 265 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
South Africa faced early setbacks in their chase, losing wickets in quick succession. Deepti Sharma made a crucial breakthrough by dismissing Tanjeme Brits in the 10th over, providing India with an early advantage.
