Indianapolis Hosts Record Breaking Nba All Star Weekend

Indianapolis is buzzing with excitement as it gears up to host the NBA All-Star weekend, expecting a 40% increase in ticket sales compared to last year’s event in Salt Lake City. Visit Indy spokesperson, Morgan Snyder, anticipates a record-breaking weekend with estimates of 170,000 tickets sold to attendees from around the country.

The Tip-Off Ceremony kicked off the festivities at Bicentennial Unity Plaza, marking the start of a star-studded weekend in the city. Fans are eagerly anticipating the NBA Crossover event at the Indiana Convention Center, featuring basketball courts, exclusive merchandise, player appearances, and performances by artists like T-Pain, ZEDD, and Keith Urban.

Friday sees the action heat up with the Rising Stars Challenge and the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, offering fans the chance to witness their favorite celebrities and rising basketball stars in action. The NBA Crossover will continue throughout the weekend with activities, panels, and concerts for attendees to enjoy.

Indianapolis is set to welcome visitors from 47 states and 29 countries, preparing to host the NBA All-Star events across various venues in the city. With a focus on arts, culture, and basketball, the city’s downtown area to White River State Park will be transformed into Indy’s Home Court, showcasing public art installations, interactive activities, and pop-up shops.

To enhance transportation for fans, the city is offering free transit options, including the IndyGo and Pacers Bikeshare programs. These services will be complimentary throughout the weekend, making it easier for visitors to navigate the city and attend all the NBA All-Star Weekend events.
