Ivanka Trump Showcases Jiu-Jitsu Skills in Miami Training Session

MIAMI, Fla. — Ivanka Trump demonstrated her blooming jiu-jitsu skills in a recent training session at the Valente Brothers gym in Miami, capturing attention with videos she shared on social media. The 43-year-old daughter of former President Donald Trump displayed an impressive range of defensive moves, showcasing her dedication to the martial art.
In the clips shared on Instagram, Trump, clad in a white gi and sporting a blue belt, engaged in sparring sessions with Gui Valente, one of the gym’s co-founders. The blue belt signifies a significant achievement in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, typically awarded after at least two years of dedicated training. Trump’s blue belt training includes elements of self-defense, mental discipline, and physical conditioning.
The Valente Brothers, who have trained notable athletes and celebrities, emphasize the holistic benefits of jiu-jitsu. “Jiu-Jitsu is more than a martial art,” the Valente Brothers remarked in their Instagram caption. “Rooted in ancient tradition and refined over generations, it offers a path to physical confidence, mental clarity, and emotional balance.” They expressed the importance of training with family and friends, stating, “As families, training together gives us the rare gift of growing side by side, on the mat and in life.”
Ivanka’s interest in jiu-jitsu was sparked when her daughter, Arabella, 13, requested to take lessons. Ivanka subsequently enrolled her daughter in classes, explaining in an interview that she finds the practice beneficial for everyone. “It’s almost like a moving meditation,” she said on *The Skinny Confidential Podcast*, describing the sport as mentally engaging.
Despite her relative novice status, noted by her blue belt ranking, Ivanka’s training has involved rigorous practices. She was seen executing impressive techniques, such as disarming an opponent and exhibiting swift punches. In one part of the training session, she even managed to flip her instructor onto the mat.
This latest development builds on her family’s established relationship with the Valente Brothers, who have trained numerous clients over their 60-year history, including supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who dates Joaquim Valente, one of the gym’s owners. The gym’s connection has not only influenced Ivanka’s fitness journey but has also extended to her family, as they frequently attend classes together.
Fitness has become a pivotal aspect of Trump’s lifestyle since leaving the White House. In past interviews, she detailed her health routines, combining weight training with a high-protein diet to enhance her physical well-being. “I feel stronger, more confident, and empowered since I started practicing self-defense,” Trump stated, reinforcing the importance of martial arts, particularly for women.
While Ivanka continues expanding her skills on the mat, her focus remains on balancing family, wellness, and personal growth. With her children also participating in the sport, the Trump family incorporates jiu-jitsu into their routine, celebrating the journey of self-improvement together.
