Jadon Sancho Returns To Borussia Dortmund With Promising Impact

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke denied rumors of any disciplinary issues with the returning Jadon Sancho, stating that the England winger is well-managed and has no problems with discipline. Sancho made his comeback on a six-month loan from Manchester United, being named on the bench for Dortmund’s Bundesliga match against Darmstadt.

Before the match, Watzke spoke with Sky Germany and revealed that Sancho’s punctuality was the only minor concern they had, as he occasionally ran late due to his internal clock. Nevertheless, Watzke praised Sancho’s skills and referred to him as a player who has a great relationship with the ball.

Watzke dismissed the notion that Sancho has any similarities to ex-Dortmund player Ousmane Dembele, who created controversy by going on strike to force a move to Barcelona. Rather, he highlighted Sancho’s successful tenure at Dortmund, where he won the German Cup before his transfer to Manchester United for a hefty fee.

Sancho’s time at Manchester United was tumultuous, as he was mostly sidelined after feuding with manager Erik ten Hag. Sancho expressed frustration on social media, feeling unfairly blamed for the club’s poor performances. Now at Dortmund, manager Edin Terzic hinted at Sancho’s potential to make an impact despite his recent arrival, stating that they hope he can influence the game against Darmstadt.

Dortmund currently sits in sixth place in the Bundesliga, trailing fourth-placed RB Leipzig by six points. With Sancho’s return and the hope for his added contribution, the team aims to climb higher in the league standings.
