She finished ahead of American climber Brooke Raboutou, who celebrated a well-deserved silver medal with a total of 156 points. Raboutou managed to secure her place on the podium with a solid performance in the Lead portion, scoring 72 points.
Austrian climber Jessica Pilz grabbed the bronze medal after an impressive Lead climb, finishing with a combined score of 147.4. The competition was intense, with Garnbret initially holding a slight lead after the Boulder event, only to come out on top in the Lead.
Throughout their performances, Garnbret and Raboutou showcased their strong friendship, even sharing an emotional moment after the competition ended. The two climbers stayed focused throughout while competing fiercely, each having topped multiple boulders in the early rounds.
As the climbers made their way onto the stage, the atmosphere was electric with anticipation. Team Great Britain’s competitor temporary took the limelight, but it was Japanese lead specialist who made waves when she scored a stunning 96.1 in the Lead climb, jumping from seventh to third place.
Ultimately, it was Garnbret’s turn to take the stage last. With her superior skills on display, she needed a minimum score to ensure her victory. At the end of her climb, she surpassed all expectations and sealed her victory, marking a memorable achievement in her climbing career.
