Jee Main 2024: Advance City Intimation Slip Released For Paper I

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the advance city intimation slip for the Joint Entrance Exams (Main) 2024 Paper I. Candidates who have applied for the examination can now download the city slip from the official website. The exam for BE/BTech (Paper I) will be conducted from January 27 to February 1, 2024.

The city slip contains the names of the cities where the exam centers will be located. This is an important piece of information for candidates to plan their travel accordingly. To download the city slip, candidates need to enter their application number and date of birth on the official website.

The JEE Main examination is the gateway for admission to prestigious institutions such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). Thus, the release of the city slip is a crucial step in the examination process.

The scheduling of the JEE Main examination aims to prevent any clash with Board examinations, which may occur at different times across states and Union Territories. The examination will be conducted in two sessions – Session 1 from January 24 to February 1, 2024, and Session 2 from April 1 to April 15, 2024.

To be eligible for JEE Main, candidates must secure a minimum of 75% marks in the 12th-grade examination or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective Board’s 12th-grade examination. For candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), the qualifying marks are reduced to 65%. Additionally, specific subject combinations in the qualifying examination are required for admission to different courses in these institutes.

Candidates who qualify for Paper I are eligible for Undergraduate Engineering programs like BE/BTech in NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs, as well as institutions and universities funded or recognized by participating State Governments. Successful candidates in JEE (Main) also qualify for the JEE (Advanced), which is the entrance exam for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

This year, Paper 2A and Paper 2B (BArch and BPlanning) will be conducted twice in both January and April. The JEE Main examination consists of papers for different courses, with Paper I focusing on BE/BTech and Paper 2A for BArch and Paper 2B for BPlanning.
