Vedaa, featuring well-known Bollywood actor John Abraham and actress Sharvari, has once again captured public attention as it prepares for its premiere on a prominent OTT platform. The action-packed drama, under the direction of Nikhil Advani, also includes Abhishek Banerjee in a significant antagonistic role. As per the latest updates, the film is set to have its global digital premiere on ZEE5 on October 10, 2024, available for streaming in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi languages.

The film previously witnessed a lukewarm response during its theatrical run, which became noticeable on August 15, 2024, when ‘Vedaa’ hit the screens along with ‘Stree 2‘ and ‘Khel Khel Mein‘. Despite not performing as well as anticipated, the film gained recognition for its engaging narrative and spectacular action scenes.

As Vedaa transitions to OTT, it aims to captivate a broader audience, especially as it sets the stage to compete in the digital space against another major Bollywood project, ‘Sarfira‘, starring Akshay Kumar. This trend of films competing on digital platforms signifies the growing importance of OTT releases in the current film industry landscape.

According to reports from Dainik Jagran, ZEE5 had secured the digital rights to Vedaa even before its theatrical release. Sources speculate that its OTT debut coincides with the Dussehra festival, expecting to increase viewership during the festive period as families gather to celebrate. Meanwhile, ‘Sarfira’ will be available on Disney Plus Hotstar on October 11, creating a scenario where audiences are presented with multiple film choices for the holidays.
