John Cena Wrestling Intercontinental Championship

Boston, MA – John Cena made history on Monday Night Raw, winning the Intercontinental Championship during his last appearance in his hometown of Boston on November 10, 2025.

In a surprise match, Cena defeated the defending champion Dominik Mysterio. This victory marked Cena’s first time holding the Intercontinental title, completing his journey as a Grand Slam Champion, which includes the WWE Championship, World Heavyweight Championship, and United States Championship.

The match began with some trash talking after Cena was introduced by Triple H. Mysterio attempted to leave the ring, but Cena interrupted. After some back-and-forth, Triple H declared that Mysterio would defend his championship against Cena right then and there, igniting the crowd’s excitement.

During the match, Mysterio focused on Cena’s shoulder, aiming to exploit previous injuries. Despite numerous high spots, including diversions and a series of trademark maneuvers from Cena, Mysterio managed to stay competitive.

The bout took a turn when both wrestlers attempted to use a steel chair, leading to confusion for the referee. At one point, Cena applied his STF but was unsuccessful as the ref was down. Ultimately, Cena lifted Mysterio for an Attitude Adjustment after countering a frog splash, sealing his win with a pinfall.

After the match, a celebratory pyro display erupted as Cena embraced the electric atmosphere of the TD Garden alongside fans. Cena’s win was a high point in a night that also featured the announcement of a WarGames match and the crowning of new champions.

The Kabuki Warriors defeated Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to claim the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, aided by interference from Nia Jax and Lash Legend. Earlier, Stephanie Vaquer successfully defended her Women’s World Championship against Raquel Rodriguez.

In other notable moments, Rusev advanced in the Last Time is Now Tournament by defeating Damian Priest, and Sheamus won against Shinsuke Nakamura to move further in the tournament as well.

Cena’s emotional night and victory signify a farewell to an era in WWE, with further developments expected as Survivor Series approaches.
