Josh Jacobs Reflects on Raiders’ Strange Decisions and Past Losses

Las Vegas, Nevada – Former Raiders running back Josh Jacobs has opened up about his experiences with the Las Vegas Raiders, particularly a significant game against the Kansas City Chiefs from a few years ago. Jacobs recalled a pre-game incident where some Raiders players disrespected the Chiefs’ logo on the field.
“I told them, ‘Do not do that. That’s dumb. We are the little brother at that point. We ain’t beat them enough to deserve that right,’” Jacobs recalled. He said he warned his teammates that if they planned to disrespect the logo, they better be ready to win. Unfortunately for the Raiders, they lost that game by a staggering 48-9.
“I was hot in the locker room,” Jacobs said, reflecting on the aftermath of the defeat. “Their mentality… we’re never gonna win like that, if people don’t take this [losing] a little more personally.”
Jacobs’ comments emerge following remarks from former Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, who expressed confusion over roster changes that affected the team’s performance during his tenure. “If I was Scooby-Doo, I would’ve went, ‘Urrrrrrrrrrr?’” Adams said, referring to the unexpected move of trading quarterback Derek Carr after a productive season.
Adams added that he tried to remain optimistic about the team’s direction amid significant changes in coaching and offensive strategies. “Things continued the next year… I was trying to feel good about it,” he shared in an interview with Mike Silver.
Both Jacobs and Adams have been standout players for the Raiders in recent years, but their frustrations seem to linger long after they have left the team. Jacobs referenced events from over five seasons ago, raising eyebrows about why these former players continue to talk about their time with the Raiders rather than moving on.
As both players prepare for new opportunities, the transition from the Raiders appears complicated, with residual feelings about past decisions clouding their current paths.
