Juwan Johnson’s Status Uncertain Ahead of Week 5 Match Against Giants

NEW ORLEANS, La. — New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson is listed as questionable for the team’s upcoming game against the New York Giants on Sunday due to an ankle injury.
Johnson, who has been a key fantasy football player this season, did not practice on Wednesday, raising concerns among fantasy managers. However, he returned to a limited practice session on Thursday, indicating some progress in his recovery.
“His limited participation is a positive sign,” said sports analyst Derek Brown. “But the injury, combined with a tough matchup, makes his outlook uncertain.”
If Johnson is unable to play, teammates Foster Moreau and Taysom Hill, both listed as questionable themselves, could see increased roles. Moreau has also been dealing with a knee issue, while Hill’s status remains unclear after being limited in practice.
Johnson has been productive, ranking as the TE8 in fantasy points per game and showing impressive metrics in deep and red zone targets. With a 20.8% target share, he has proven integral in the Saints’ passing game, finishing as a top ten tight end in three of the first four games this season.
As fantasy managers prepare for Sunday, monitoring Johnson’s status before the final injury report is essential. The 49ers have a favorable matchup this week against the Giants, who have struggled to defend tight ends.
Fans will have to wait until Friday for the team’s final practice report to get clarity on Johnson’s status. “It will be crucial for managers to decide if he can contribute significantly or if they need to make alternative lineup adjustments,” Brown added.
