Kannada Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa Detained in Connection with Murder Case
Bangalore police detained Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa from Mysuru in connection with the murder case of Renukaswamy. Thoogudeepa is being brought to Bangalore for further investigation.
Renukaswamy’s body was found near Sumannahalli Bridge in Bengaluru after allegedly making derogatory social media posts about Pavitra Gowda. The police initiated the probe and have arrested ten individuals in relation to this case.
According to reports, Renukaswamy was murdered for harassing Pavitra Gowda online, who is a friend of Darshan Thoogudeepa. The incident took place near a farmhouse owned by Darshan in Mysuru.
The accused reportedly tortured Renukaswamy for hours before killing him and dumping his body in a drain in Bengaluru’s Kamakshipalya area two months ago. Police recovered the body on June 9, triggering the investigation.
Upon Darshan Thoogudeepa’s arrest, security has been heightened near his Bengaluru residence. Earlier suspects in the case confessed to the murder due to financial disputes, as per Indian Express reports.
Darshan Thoogudeepa, a renowned Kannada actor known for films like ‘Anatharu’ and ‘Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna’, was established Thoogudeepa Productions in 2006. He has also won accolades including the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor.
