MANHATTAN, KS — Kansas State rallied in the final moments to defeat Tulsa 84-83 on Monday, Nov. 17, at Bramlage Coliseum. The Wildcats pulled off a five-point comeback in the last 49 seconds of the game.

Led by P.J. Haggerty, who scored 25 of his 29 points in the second half, Kansas State struggled to find their rhythm in the first half but made key plays when it mattered most. Haggerty’s performance was crucial, especially as he had a game-high 17 points just before the game turned in K-State’s favor.

Tulsa led by two points with just over 30 seconds left, but the Wildcats regained possession and capitalized on missed shots by the Golden Hurricane. An official review confirmed that Kansas State would have the ball after a tumultuous sequence of plays that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Throughout the game, both teams displayed aggressive play styles, but the Wildcats managed to hold Tulsa to 28.1% shooting in the second half while gaining crucial rebounds. Despite a rough start in shooting, Kansas State overcame adversity and focused their comeback efforts in the closing minutes.

After hitting several free throws, Tulsa went on a run, giving them a 76-74 lead with just under three minutes remaining. But Haggerty, alongside teammate David Castillo, worked to regain control, as Castillo also contributed significantly with three-point shots.

With this close win, the Wildcats now prepare for their next challenge against Mississippi State in the Hall of Fame Classic, which begins Thursday, Nov. 20. Coach Tang will address the team’s performance and adjustments needed moving forward.
