Karoline Leavitt White House Press Secretary Interview

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In her first sit-down television interview since assuming office, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt discussed her unique position and experiences during a conversation with Fox News host Lara Trump on the program ‘My View with Lara Trump.’ At just 27 years old, Leavitt has become the youngest press secretary in U.S. history, marking a significant milestone.

Leavitt, who began her tenure amid high expectations, shared her enthusiasm for her role serving President Trump. ‘Definitely never imagined this, but I love my job. I’m so honored and humbled to be the press secretary for President Trump, who — as you said — truly is the most dynamic president in our lifetimes,’ she said during the premiere episode.

In her new capacity, Leavitt is focused on amplifying diverse voices within the White House press room. She has initiated a rotating “guest seat” to accommodate non-traditional media outlets, fostering direct engagement and accessibility. ‘I look forward to the opportunity to bring the truth and the facts to the podium,’ she noted.

Addressing challenges posed by mainstream media, Leavitt remarked, ‘Unfortunately, the mainstream media has been blinded by this bias — this anti-Trump bias — and it’s quite sad.’ She emphasized the need for journalistic integrity and expressed her commitment to dispelling preconceived narratives that hinder understanding.

Leavitt’s journey in politics began with an internship at the White House’s correspondence office, eventually leading to her role as assistant press secretary under former press secretary Kayleigh McEnany. She reflects on her experiences with the former administration, stating, ‘I think the best thing about him that I’ve learned is he’s a great listener, and he values the opinions of everybody in the room.’

Highlighting the considerable responsibilities of her position, Leavitt described President Trump as ‘hospitable and generous with his time,’ acknowledging, ‘Trump time is a real thing, but it’s because he cares what everybody in the room thinks.’

Moreover, Leavitt shared how her recent transition into motherhood has profoundly influenced her outlook. ‘I want my son to grow up in a free America that we’ve studied and learned about in our classrooms,’ she explained, expressing her newfound passion for advocating for the principles she values.

‘My View with Lara Trump’ airs on Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET. ‘I’m thrilled to bring my voice back to FOX News,’ Lara Trump stated regarding the show’s debut, emphasizing her goals to engage with the American people and celebrate the nation’s accomplishments.
