Ken Roczen Daytona Supercross Win 2025

DAYTONA BEACH, FloridaKen Roczen clinched his first-ever victory at the Daytona Supercross during the eighth round of the 2025 Monster Energy Supercross series, showcasing remarkable skill and determination. Roczen triumphed over Cooper Webb in a tightly contested race, celebrating his 23rd career win.

Despite experiencing setbacks earlier in the season, including three second-place finishes and a third, Roczen remained confident ahead of the race. “I honestly can’t believe it,” Roczen said following the win. “I really put my head down. I had some really good lines. When you make those passes, you have to put your head down or they will retaliate and come back.”

Webb, who faced difficulties with two bike stalls, applied pressure on Roczen but ultimately finished five seconds behind. “You can’t make mistakes, as many as I made and still expect to win,” Webb told NBC Sports. “Kenny rode great. He was charging through and he got around me. Overall, from a points’ position, it was a great night.”

Roczen’s victory was further solidified when he passed Aaron Plessinger, who completed the podium in third place. Justin Cooper and Chase Sexton rounded out the top five, with Sexton overcoming a significant crash during his heat race to finish strong.

In the 250 East division, RJ Hampshire secured a win in his home state, leading from the outset after overcoming an early crash by Levi Kitchen. “It’s special,” Hampshire said. “I lost my dad a few months ago, and this was his race. Growing up as a kid, this is where we came. He was with us today.” After building a considerable lead, Hampshire finished ahead of Tom Vialle, who managed pressure from competitors throughout the race.

Seats filled quickly as bright skies and warm temperatures added an exciting feel to the event, contrasting the previous year’s rainy conditions. Riders navigated the challenging Daytona track, which included various surface conditions ranging from black dirt to red clay and white sand, testing their skills throughout the race.

The excitement of the evening marked yet another chapter in the competitive 2025 Monster Energy Supercross series, leaving fans eagerly anticipating future races.
