LOS ANGELES, CA — Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige recently expressed his excitement for the upcoming film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is set to premiere on July 25, 2025. In an interview, Feige highlighted the significance of the Fantastic Four as Marvel’s ‘First Family’ and emphasized the company’s commitment to doing justice to these iconic characters.

Feige, who produced earlier Fantastic Four films in 2005 and 2007, acknowledged that those versions did not fully capture the essence of the characters. ‘I think that there are no four characters that are more important for the history of Marvel,’ he stated. The acquisition of Fox by Disney has allowed Marvel to introduce the group into the MCU at a pivotal moment.

Speaking about the evolution of superhero films, Feige noted, ‘There was still a bit of fear of being silly’ in previous adaptations. He shared that with First Steps, Marvel is ready to embrace the full scope of the characters, even portraying their formidable villain, Galactus. ‘In another time, some might consider the notion of somebody with a big, angular helmet walking through a city goofy. I consider it awesome,’ he said.

The film, directed by Matt Shakman, promises a daring visual style that combines elements of Jack Kirby’s vibrant artistry with a retro-futuristic vibe. Shakman described the narrative as one where the Heroes balance personal relationships while facing cosmic threats.

Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will star as Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm respectively. The cast also includes notable actors like John Malkovich and Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer.

As anticipation builds for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, many fans are eager to see if Marvel can deliver an impactful story that resonates within the larger landscape of the MCU. The movie aims to blend personal dynamics with high-stakes action, making Marvel’s First Family relevant in today’s cinematic universe.
