Khadija Faye Women's Basketball All Star Game

PITTSBURGH – Pitt Panthers graduate student center Khadija Faye will compete in the 2025 Lilly Women’s College All-Star Game on April 5 in Tampa, Florida. The game will feature 20 of the nation’s top senior women’s basketball players, providing them a final opportunity to represent their schools during the NCAA‘s championship weekend.

Faye’s participation was announced via a press release from Pitt, highlighting her as one of the elite performers this season. The game will tip off at 3 p.m. ET at Hillsborough Community College-Mabry Campus, with live coverage on ESPN2. Faye will play for either Team Lieberman or Team Miller, both coached by Basketball Hall of Famers Nancy Lieberman and Cheryl Miller, respectively.

The full rosters for the teams will be revealed in the days leading up to the event, with individual player commitments announced continuously as well. Faye’s impressive performance this season, which included being named First Team All-ACC, positioned her for this honor. She averaged 19.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, showcasing her skills on both ends of the court.

“Thank you to the University of Pittsburgh with all my heart,” Faye said in the press release. “I came to this wonderful city not knowing what to expect. Little did I know, the amazing people, staff, teammates, and friends I would be surrounded with.”

Faye, originally from Dakar, Senegal, has had a dynamic college basketball journey. She began her career at Texas Tech, playing two seasons before transferring to Texas, where she achieved notable success. After spending her fifth year at Pitt, she has been a standout player, leading the ACC in double-doubles with 19 this past season and earning her place among the conference’s elite.

Pitt head coach Tory Verdi praised Faye’s contributions throughout the season, particularly in her ability to perform under pressure. “Nothing surprises me and she’s doing it, getting double and triple-teamed,” Verdi said. “She has two, three people draped around her all day long, and the fact that she continues to go out there and have a double-double shows she belongs at the next level.”

Faye’s remarkable season included scoring over 20 points in 17 games, with a career-high of 31 points in the regular-season finale against Wake Forest. With her standout performances and accolades, Faye declared for the upcoming WNBA Draft, set to take place on April 14.

This season, she became only the third Pitt player in history to earn First Team All-ACC honors, joining previous honorees Liatu King and Briana Kiesel. The Lilypads Women’s College All-Star Game will also feature sponsorship support from national brands, enhancing the event experience for both players and fans.

Faye’s participation not only highlights her achievements but also reflects on the growing recognition of women in sports. As part of this exciting event, fans can purchase tickets and follow updates on the event’s official website.
